The vision of the scheme is to encourage innovative research that addresses key social issues, advances scientific knowledge, and contributes to the state's development, while nurturing a new generation of skilled researchers and professionals.

Objective

The primary objective of this scheme is to:

  • To promote research and development in areas of social relevance, addressing critical issues that contribute to the state's progress.
  • The scheme supports research in fields such as Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and Veterinary Sciences.
  • Financial assistance ranging from Rs. 3.00 to 5.00 lakh for a period of 2 years is provided to scientists and faculty members in recognized universities, colleges and research institutions.
  • The scheme also aims to train research scholars and postgraduate students, helping develop skilled manpower in the research field.
